This is a non-rage efficient build with current gear, but could be used fine as a main or solo tank or with sufficient feeder mobs. A more group friendly caster defense would utilize the points in shield reflect. But ive found this spec allows some versatility as you never know who yoru going to be grouping with or who your groing to be tanking with.
If you want to solo vanilla raids, bc dungoens some heroics you can use this one without fear of getting a high repair bill. Mind you you may not have TF and that small bit of aoe damage and automatic ignore armor for some of its damage do make a difference in some places as does the slowing effect and having an additional TC or banked rage from not having to use it.
Solo tank build
The glyphs
Major
Glyph of Sunder Armor
Glyph of Devistate
Glyph of Blocking
Minor
Glyph of Thunderclap
Glyph of Bloodrage
Glyph of Charge
When you match Devistate with Sunder
You are sundering 2 targets with 2 applications of sunder with each strike.
This is actually very nice for raids for armor reduction on multiple targets
this makes it possible to dot up 4 targets with a full stack of sunders within 6 strikes vs 1 within 5 strikes.
More rage efficient models bank on you being an off tank for most raiding, but leave you lacking the ability to solo as your damage output is hurt leading to longer fights and your still stuck with your cooldowns on enraged regen. So you will be topped in rage but cant really do jack. Doing bosses like panther in zg solo since the patches, mind you without potting, flasking or food buffs, will take you a bit, but timed right with your enraged regen you easily solo this. Just make sure to repair your shield afterward, it takes a mad beating.
I have a few different models i work in depending on the sets im using and the people im working with, but solo, this seems to work best.[/url]

Well, before the next patch, you could possibly consider dropping 3 points from shield specialization and place them into Focused Rage. This would give you more rage to play with and since Block really doesn't mitigate that much until next patch, it's not all that valuable.
Also, ever seen this build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#LAMIzf0x0brM0MZZMItrx0zid
From what I hear, it's supposed to be a maximum TPS prot build but I've never tried it out myself.
