Mages

* Arcane Blast: Mana cost reduced by 12%.
* Invisibility: Can no longer be interrupted by a hostile action or damage done during the 3-second fade time, however an invisible mage can still be stunned or silenced.

* Talents

o Fire
+ Empowered Fire: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also grants a 33/67/100% chance to regain 1% of base mana each time the Ignite talent deals damage.

Okay to actually look at these changes from the view of logic and math.

The Arcane Blast reduction roughly saves you 60 mana on the first charge if the mana cost for it is 500. 500 - 60 = 440. So now the first cast of Arcane Blast is 440 mana. Lets hit the mob again with Arcane Blast.

*Arcane Blast*

Okay, now we're up to one charges and it cost you an increased of 200 percent, or 880 mana. ( 440 x 200%, or to make it more simple 440 x 2) Lets go ahead and get froggy and hit the mob for the 2nd charge.

*Arcane Blast*

Okay, now we're up to two charges, meaning the next time we cast Arcane Blast, it's now going to be increased by 400 percent, or 1760 mana. (440 x 400%) Now we'll go balls to the wall here and go for 3 charges.

*Arcane Blast*

We've now hit the max for the charges. We're critting our pants and running low on mana. This is because now after we hit 3 charges, the mana cost of Arcane Blast is increased by 600 percent, or costing 2640 mana. (440 x 600%)

So basically after casting Arcane Blast 4 times we've already spent 5000 mana with the new change. You've now approximately saved 1000 mana by the 12 percent reduction.

/golfclap

Invisibility

Win. Just remember don't cast any spells after hitting Invis.

Empowered Fire

The update on this is now instead of regaining 1% of base mana, we now get 2%. To be honest, this is somewhat nice, but for the most part, I've never ran out of mana with fire, with the exception of maybe Lotheb or Thaddius due to the buffs they give, and I'm casting Pyroblast much more often. But even still, you can pop a Mana Sapphire or you can pop off Evocate. And the thing I don't understand, is does it mean the base mana of the spell that causes ignite or is it your base mana pool. If it's your base mana pool, and you've got 20,000 mana. You're suppose to get like 400 mana per Ignite. Most likely it's going to be just the initial Ignite and not per tick. If it is per tick of damage, you can get back up to 1600 mana.

So the basic run down of 3.2 patch changes to mages.

"Look we're trying to save you some mana by the changes to Arcane Blast" Yeah okay, save 1000 mana in a spec that pisses that 1000 mana away with a little trickle.

"HEY LOOK INVISIBILITY CAN WORK!" This is fucking amazing, it really is. The question is, how long until you change it back because now we'll actually be able to do shit in PvP, and every other class will QQ about it. Grant it this change means a lot to PvE mages, Blizzard always will try to make the game for PvPers and say piss on you PvE. Maybe they can fix Blink next...

"Look! Something added to Empowered Fire!" Yup. Congratulations on making a talent in Fire more mana efficient. Now I can sleep easy at night, knowing that Fire spec (one of the cheapest in mana ever now with Frostfire Bolt added in the rotation) is now more mana efficient for those extra long boss fights, a whopping 3 bosses maybe. Patchwerk, Thaddius, Sapph. Thanks for the pat on the head.

The Updated rantings of an angry mage at Blizzard's stupidity, also known as, Mati just fuckin saw the updated patch notes for mages.

Frost Bolt, Cone of Cold, Frost Ward, Ice Armor, Frost Armor, Frost Nova, Ice Lance, and Ice Barrier: The mana cost on these spells has been reduced by approximately 15%.

Ok um...Why the fuck would you drop the cost of spells in the spec of Mages that almost never runs out of mana? This makes absolutely no sense what so ever to do, better yet, why make it 15% and spells like Arcane Blast only get 12%?

Mirror Image: Images will no longer trigger the death sound when their time expires.

I hate you Blizzard, what if I want to hear my mirrored self die?! Better yet, how about you know making sure that Mirror Image works properly all the time? Lately I'll be in a fight and they'll stand there as though they are already faceplanting. Wtf.

Empowered Frostbolt: Instead of increasing critical strike chance by 2/4%, this talent now reduces the cast time of Frostbolt by 0.1/0.2 seconds.

Don't we fucking have this already? You know as one of the first fucking talents you can put points into? Why you gotta reduce crit chance for Frosty mages now? Oh wait, that's right you want this spec to still be fast enough but not hard enough. Sounds like a bad date.

Permafrost: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also causes the mage's Chill effects to reduce healing received by the victim by 7/13/20%.

AKA, we'll give something for Frost Spec PvP mages. /golfclap Good jorb how about taking some stupid shit out of fire or arcane next? I bet DK's and Dr00ds don't have as many points in worthless things as mages.

If you're not going to fix us, at least fix MS warriors.
